Day 1: Arrive Easter Island

Arriving into Easter Island you will see exactly why this small yet fascinating island is on everyone’s bucket list for the mind puzzling statues and it is one of the world’s most isolated inhabited islands. Currently there are 887 statues/Moais which have been restored around the island, these great statues were once surrounding the island but many were destroyed in tribal wars these statues were made out of distinctive, compressed, easily worked solidified volcanic ash found at a single site inside the extinct volcano Ran Raraku.  All the hotels are situated in the one area of Easter Island where you will stay during your time at the Easter Island. Day 2: Full day Tour

After breakfast your guide will meet you at the front of your hotel for your full day tour to some of the most historical sights of Easter Island. It is to be believed the Statues are set on a platform for each ceremonial center, in the area of the Ahu Tongariki is a set of magnificent 15 restored Moasis forming the largest ceremonial platforms in the island. You will also be able to visit the volcano of Rano Raraku which is where the material used to make the Moasis was collected.  Also in this area you will find over 400 abandoned Moais which are all in different stages of carving including a gigantic 21metre high Moais. From this point you will also be able to get a spectacular view of the whole island. Before returning back to you hotel we take you to the Anakena beach which was once an old residential are of the Supreme Chief of the village. The remainder of the afternoon is at your own leisure. Day 3: Easter Island

This morning you are in for another adventures day with a half day tour visiting the Ahu Akivi and Puna Pau quarry. This tour starts just after breakfast and travels to Ahu Akivi which is an old ceremonial platform and has 7 restored moais facing the sea. After this historical area we travel to the Puna Pau quarry where the Moai stone ‘hats’ of red lava have been discovered, this is where the islanders used the red earth to dye their hair. The last stop on your tour is visiting the Te Pahu which is a large group of caves were formed in the lava, the islanders used these caves for shelter and also for ceremonial events. After returning back your hotel you will have a true understand on just how unique Easter Island is, the remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. [B]

Day 4: Depart Easter Island

After having 3 full days exploring this fascinating island it’s now time to say goodbye to the island, after sharing these few days learning about the locals, history and natural beauty of this island were confident this small island will be a big part of your overall journey. [B]
