Day 1: Arrive Mendoza

Vineyard_in_Mendoza,_ArgentinaFlying into Mendoza is easy from either Buenos Aires or Santiago and it’s worth the short flight.  You will often find Mendoza wines on international wine lists and for good reason. The greater Mendoza area is the largest wine producing area in Latin America. The perfect grape producing conditions in this area make Mendoza one of the most famous wine capitals of the world.  For this reason alone, Mendoza has become a tourist destination for exploring the beautiful Argentinean countryside and wineries in the region.

To start off your Mendoza experience when you arrive into the airport you will have a transfer to your hotel situated in the heart of the wine region. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, we recommend having a stroll through the main streets of Mendoza and your stay in Mendoza will not be complete without feasting on a the prime Argentinean steak with a local Mendoza wine.

Day 2: Sightseeing Mendoza Half Day Winery tour

Int Winery SalenteinThe morning is set aside to explore Mendoza at your own leisure before embarking on a winery tour in the afternoon in which you can familiarize yourself with some of the local produce and have a few tastings. The first location is to the south of Mendoza where you will visit two wineries set amongst magnificent vineyards. With special access to their cellars your senses will be delighted with the tastes and smells of the wines.   This tour also takes you to the Cipolletti Dike, important for the irrigation system of the province, and the Carrodilla Church, with its picturesque image of the Patron of the Vineyards.  Your driver will then take you back to your hotel .

Day 3: Mendoza High Country

The excursion to the Mendoza high country is possible at any time of the year. The journey follows a route from Mendoza to the Chilean border, driving on excellent asphalt roads. The journey includes the Potrerillos Dam and Cacheuta with its thermal swimming waters.

Visiting las Bóvedas, the historic vaults made of adobe which was an important place for the Andean Army during the freedom fights for Chile. You can visit Picheuta, Polvareda, Punta de Vacas and the famous town of Penitentes.   The ski resorts of Mendoza are only 167km away where a trip on the chairlift provides fantastic views of the surrounding landscape.
