Starting off in the capital of Bogota, this itinerary then sets out to a region Colombia is renowned for – the Coffee growing region. Here you will get the chance to see firsthand how the Colombia’s create the world renowned coffee. Then traveling up north to the Caribbean coast to visit the oldest city in South America – Santa Marta which is filled with Colombia history and culture plus it’s the gateway to Tayrona National park.

Day 1: Arrive Bogota

On arrival into Bogota transfer to your hotel and have the remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy this vibrant city

Day 2: Bogota Sightseeing

After breakfast enjoy a half day tour of the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, 49kilometers away from the city of Bogota. Journey through the northern part of Bogota, the Sabana countryside and ‘El Puente de Comun’. Upon arrival into Zipaquira enter the salt Cathedral a very unique underground Roman Catholic church built within the tunnels of a salt mine and 200meters below the surface. It’s an incredible site to visit while listening to your guide on the Colombian religious beliefs and traditions. After visiting the underground salt cathedral take a small tour around the colonial town of Zipaquira before returning to Bogota Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Bogota

Day 3: Bogota – Armenia

This morning transfer to the airport to board a flight to Armenia – home of the coffee plantations. Upon arrival into Armenia transfer to your hotel and have the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Armenia

Day 4: Coffee Plantations of Armenia

Columbia is famous for coffee and today is your chance to experience Columbia’s finest exports and visit a working coffee plantation. This tour starts off in the town of chinchina in the Caldas department travelling through the endless coffee fields. Upon arriving at the coffee plantation you will begin with an interactive tour of the coffee making process and a walk through of the whole plant taking in each process of creating coffee. The remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy the atmosphere Armenia has to offer. Overnight Armenia.

Day 5: Armenia to Santa Marta

Board a flight from Armenia to Santa Marta (flight not included in price) When you arrive into Santa Marta you will be transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Santa Marta

Day 6: Santa Marta Sightseeing

Santa Marta is not all about the beach and nightlife. There is some great and interesting history behind this sea side city. This morning we have included a city tour taking in sights such as the Tayrona Museum, The Pibe Valderrama monument, the historical centre, the Tangaga lookout and many more. This afternoon have the remainder of the day at leisure where you can enjoy the sights and rich culture Santa Marta has to offer. Overnight Santa Marta

Day 7: Santa Marta

Today gives you the opportunity to set your own pace and venture around Santa Marta. We suggest if you are pressed for time to go on a full day tour to the unique national park of Tayrona set north of Santa Marta on the coast. Overnight Santa Marta

Day 8: End of Journey
